Getting started

Request an account

  • For internal EMBL users, please use the internal instance and log-in using EMBL credentials
  • For external users, please use the external instance and request an accout by sending an email to cbbcssupport@embl.de

Launch a desktop

  1. Once you have your account, open a browser and go to https://bard-external.embl.de
  2. Select a “flavour” for your desktop by clicking the option buttons under “Resources”
  3. Click “Connect with Guest Account”
  4. When prompted, enter you login details
  5. Wait a few seconds while the virtual desktop loads.
  6. Once loaded, you will see a desktop interface.
    • The application dock is located at the bottom of the screen.
    • Additional applications can be accessed from the menu in the top-right corner.
  7. To start an application (for example, Cellpose-SAM), click its icon in the bottom dock.
